How to Apply Easihold Stone-In-One

Stone-In-One is designed to make decorative surfacing more accessible, with four straightforward stages to follow.

Step 1: Clean the Surface

Ensure the surface is clean and dry, and free from dust, dirt and other contaminants. A properly prepared surface helps support adhesion and a consistent finish.

Step 2: Prepare the Mixture

The aggregate blend comes pre-mixed with binder, so you don't need to measure and mix. Prepare your materials and ensure you have everything ready before starting.

Step 3: Apply the Tack Coat and SRM Mesh (Horizontal Applications)

Apply the tack coat primer to the prepared surface using a suitable roller, brush or application tool. For horizontal applications, place the SRM mesh onto the tack coat as part of the preparation process.

Step 4: Apply the Mixture

Apply the Stone-In-One mixture using a trowel, working in manageable sections and applying firm, even pressure. For horizontal applications, aim for an application depth of 8–12 mm. Lightly trowel the material as needed to help the aggregate knit together and achieve an even finish.

Step 5: Allow to Dry and Protect

Protect the newly applied surface from rain and moisture while it dries. The top layer may dry before the material underneath, so allow sufficient time for the entire application to dry.

We recommend allowing approximately 48 hours before exposing the surface to rainfall. For vertical applications, allow a minimum of 48–72 hours of dry weather for drying. Drying times can vary depending on application depth, temperature, humidity and weather conditions.

To apply to a loose base such as loose stone first compact the surface as much as possible. Apply a thin layer of Stone-In-One premix to act as a capping layer and trowel this out to form a flat, even surface. Immediately after this, apply two layers of SRM on top of the capping layer, this will provide a stable base and strengthen the underlying structure. Leave this to dry for 4-6 hours. Then apply a second layer of Premix directly onto the prepared surface. Using firm, even pressure, trowel the material to create a smooth, level finish, aiming for an application depth of 8-12 mm. Allow 48-72 hours of dry weather after installation to allow for the full system to cure.

How Much Easihold Stone-In-One Do You Need?

Each kit includes the pre-mixed aggregate blend with binder, tack coat primer and SRM mesh. One kit covers approximately 1 m² for standard applications, or 0.5 m² when applying over loose stones.

Important Things to Know Before You Start

To get the best results from your project, keep these recommendations in mind:

·        Application temperature: Apply between 5°C and 30°C (41°F–86°F), protecting the product from freezing.

·        Rain protection: Protect the surface from rain and moisture while drying, and allow sufficient dry weather before rainfall.

·        Surface preparation: Ensure the surface is suitable, solid, clean and dry before application.

·        Drainage: Horizontal applications require a permeable surface or suitable drainage and runoff.

·        Foot traffic: Suitable for light to heavy foot traffic once properly dried.

·        Vehicle traffic: Not suitable for vehicular traffic.

·        Garden furniture: Wait a full week after application before placing furniture on the surface.

·        Storage: Unopened product has a shelf life of up to two years. Once opened, place the remaining product back into the bag and seal it securely after use to help it last for up to two months.
